I like that. It fits nicely with my (and Kayla's) sociobiology tutorial. Creating an in-group is a central part of survival for species that live within close proximity to each other: lions, chimpanzees, gorillas, hunting dogs. Solidarity within the group is encouraged as it helps the individuals, but it comes at a cost to those outside of the group.
Notice how he said that he is an atheist, but a "nice atheist". This is a reflection of the power of social ostracism that comes with directly attacking religion, as right now, the largest in group are believers.
