I found this TED Talk by the reporter who took one year and lived under a literal interpretation of everything in the Bible and subsequently published a book about it. He talks about what he learned and the new perspective he gained.

Marx Response Paper (RP1)

Read the selection from Karl Marx's introduction to "A Contribution to the Critique of Hegel's Philosophy of Right." Respond with a short post (2-3 paragraphs) in which you formulate a thesis that supports, refutes, or expands on Marx’s view of religion’s role in society. Consider the following questions as you write: Was Marx correct to call religion the “opiate of the people”? Does his view fail to recognize the positive benefits of religion? Or can his ideas be seen as important when they were written, but in need of revision in the modern world?
